Haydonna Featured in ShoppingDesign Taiwan

ShoppingDesign, April 1, 2026

Taiwanese design and lifestyle magazine ShoppingDesign has featured Haydonna — artist, founder, and creative director of HAY TIN — highlighting her distinctive visual language and her Taipei solo exhibition, Sachiket. Describing Haydonna as “a South Korean artist who speaks through lines,” ShoppingDesign points to her bold yet fluid lines, vivid fields of color, and ability to reduce complex scenes to their most essential forms and movements.

The magazine describes her practice as having “a distinctive style that exists between art and design,” noting that this unique visual language “makes her stand out among artists of her generation.” With a foundation in fine art, Haydonna later studied Graphic Design at the School of Visual Arts in New York before founding HAY TIN in 2016. Since then, she has moved fluidly between her roles as artist and creative director, extending her visual language across painting, graphics, brands, products, spaces, and content. ShoppingDesign also highlights the particular sense of space and rhythm within Haydonna’s work. Through a restrained use of line and color, her compositions capture moments of movement, humor, and imagination found in everyday life.

The article traces Haydonna’s continuing presence in Taiwan, beginning with her first Taipei solo exhibition, Gentle Souls, in 2023, which received wide recognition from local collectors and audiences, followed by a series of exhibitions that further established her practice in the region.

In 2026, Haydonna introduced Sachiket, her blue cat character, through its first global solo exhibition at Contemporary by U in Taipei. Rather than approaching Sachiket simply as a character, ShoppingDesign frames it as an extension of Haydonna’s artistic world — giving physical form to feelings of distance, companionship, and emotions that can be difficult to express in words.
